Normal practice to sell food items past their expiry date in big clearance sales?
I bought easter chocolate/candies in a clearance sale no more than a few days ago & decided to call up one of the manufacturers of the chocolates to find out the best before date. The associate on the phone helped me through that, mentioning the manufacturer date to be SEPT 12, 2010, & that the chocolate itself had a shelf life of 6 months FROM that date. If my math's correct that would mean this item (among others) expired a little less than two months ago.
My question is it normal for stores "like" Wal-mart or any other superstore to sell expired food items in huge clearance sales? or does it depend on the particular item? (which in my case would be Cadbury Creme Eggs, & Mini Eggs)
Don't even wanna ATTEMPT to eat this stuff if it's past its expiry date.
Thanks in advance.
Usually stores will put the stuff closest to the experation date on the front of the shelf. However knowingly putting already expired stuff on the shelf is illegal. Sometimes it may end up past expiration by a few days because nobody bought it yet, but two months is a bit extreme. You could sue them if you got sick from it.

Indian Church Richmond
Asian Indian Church in Richmond VA (Virginia)- Worship in Malayalam, English, Tamil, Telegu and Hindi*
Tabernacle Pentecostal Religious in Richmond, Virginia (VA) was founded in 1990 by the late Reverend Kothakeri Cherian, who was a Indian Christian literature writer and a gospel minister. Tabernacle Pentecostal Religious presents a household religious to people who have not been reached due to their cultural differences and language barriers.
At present, we have much more than sixty members attending the church often, speaking numerous Indian languages this kind of as Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi. In addition to worship services in Indian languages, our ministries contain Sunday college, youth ministry, missions and goodwill operate. As the Indian community in Richmond is escalating morning by morning, more folks have began attending TPC.
(Tabernacle Pentecostal church, Richmond VA with worship in Malayalam, Tamil, Telegu, Hindi and English)
How can we identify if one's belief is true or fake? Instead of judging other folks permit us look ourselves and see what kind of notions we maintain. When others received baptized they also may well have baptized with them. Now, they may possibly be teaching in Sunday schools, involved in youth programs and so on. But if their opinion is only based on wisdom, they will have to regret later. Right here comes a dilemma, how can a single make sure his notions is in spirit and not in wisdom?
They say, why are you people coming to us and waste your valuable time here? Don't you go to folks who belong to other communities who do not know Christ? We know almost everything you are going to inform us. We differ only in one particular factor; you speak to everyone about your belief as if you are the only ones who think in Christ. Even though not conversing to other people we also have solid hope in our hearts and we like to are living accordingly not by terms but by practicing.
Their arguments might appear to be a small bit sensible but the only thing is that they want to get rid of us. Permit us think about what apostle Paul has described in 2 Cor. 4: 13. "It is composed: 'I believed, and for that reason I have spoken' with the very same spirit of belief we also believe and therefore speak". According to apostle, speaking outside is a sign of notions inside of. It is like h2o in a tank. If there is no h2o, naturally nothing will flow out. This easy principle can be applied here as properly. Also see what Apostle John says in this account. Jn. The Samaritan woman didn't retain her mouth shut right after she discovered Jesus. True opinion is accompanied by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will flow from the within like a river by way of terms. That was what happened on the morning of Pentecost [Acts a couple of: four]. Actual perception will come out through terms whilst the other folks maintain mum. People might quarrel with each and every other concerning the problem of their hope in a loud voice, but this cannot be counted as a true trust confession. Everyone knows this phrase- Rom. 10: 9-ten. [If you confess with your mouth "Jesus is the Lord", and feel in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be preserved]. Lengthy ago although studying in a Sunday college or while attending a revival meeting, or in a sick bed, 1 may well have confessed these words when others pressurized him from outside. Okay, there is no fault it. What he felt then is stated there in Jer.20: 9 - "Then I mentioned, I will not make mention of him, nor talk any a lot more in his name. But this expression was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay". For the prophet, it is far better to die instead than living with out communicating the expression that God has laid upon his mouth.
A lightened candle can only lighten other candles. In this way belief can be conveyed from a single individual to one more via phrases. When a single hears a person with glowing trust speaking, he also obtains genuine faith. Only individuals who have genuine faith have the burden towards other folks to get true belief. So he will not maintain shut his mouth. He will converse out. By this we can very easily determine one's hope, whether if it is actual or fake.
Now, there is another sort of folks, who are genuinely conserved, have received actual perception, and are lightened candles, but since of shame and fear, not speaking. The 1 who received 1 skill dug the earth and hid it there. At final the Lord returned. The Lord scolded him with serious words and took his 1 expertise and gave it to the one particular who had 10 talents. If we do not trade with that a single talent, the only a single that we posses, also will be used apart. Then we are just like men and women who have only wisdom opinion. The skills is referred to as a portion of perception in Rom 12: three. One who trade with what he owned will get a lot more. In essence, if 1 speaks, his trust will be elevated and if a single speaks not, the remaining faith he has with him also will be used apart. When the large priest and the leaders of the temple saw Peter and John speaking, and individuals turn to Christ, they asked them in strong terms not to communicate any far more. Then what Peter replied was remarkable. If they had kept quiet with the notions in their hearts alone, then there would have been no difficulty. malayalam church richmond virginia
But beware of the day time when separation will take location in between the wheat and chaff [Matt.a couple of:twelve].

All About Jesus Christ Life in The Beginning
This Christian article is all about Jesus Christ's life on earth in the beginning. Jesus recognized his relation to God, at the age of twelve years saying to his earthly parents, "Did you not know that I must be in the house of my Father?" (Luke 2:48-50)
God saw fit to make Jesus the key figure in the outworking of all His purposes, the focal point on which the light of all prophecies would concentrate and from which their light would radiate, the solution to all the problems that Satan's rebellion had raised, and the foundation upon which God would build all universal family in heaven and earth.
Jesus being the key figure while on earth, clearly stated that "no man has ascended into heaven." (John 3:13) In reality, there is nothing in the Scriptures to show that a heavenly hope was held out to God's servants prior to the coming of Jesus Christ. Such hope first appears in Jesus' expressions to his disciples (Matt 19:21, 23-28) and was fully comprehended by them only after Pentecost of 33 C.E. (Acts 1:6-8' 2:1-4)
One thing to take note about Jesus' life. At the beginning of Jesus ministry up to his crucifixion, his purpose was to fulfill all the things prophesied about him and bearing the truth to the things to which God had sworn. This truth was the truth that would ‘set men free' if they showed themselves to be "on the side of the truth" by accepting Jesus' role in God's purpose. (John 8:32-36; 18:37)
Jesus Christ himself is full of grace and truth. While Jesus lived his life on earth he always spoke the truth as he received it from his Father. He committed no sin, nor was deception found in his mouth. Jesus represented things as they really were. Besides being full of truth, Jesus was himself the truth, and truth came through him. He declared: "I am the way and the truth and the life."
Jesus life was based on the truth and all his teachings were truth, for he was the master teacher of all God's ways. Jesus knew God as no other man did and this enabled him to provide authoritative teaching concerning his Father.
Jesus Christ was thoroughly acquainted with God's written Word. When ask which commandment was the greatest in the Law, without hesitation he summed up the entire Law in two commandments, quoting from Deuteronomy (6:5) and Leviticus (19:18). (Matt 22:36-40)
During the course of Jesus ministry he is known to have referred to or expressed thoughts that parallel passages from about one-half of the books of the Hebrew Scriptures.
Other aspects about Jesus that made his teaching authoritative and effective were the understanding of man and his loving concern for others. His keen discernment was enhanced by miraculous knowledge of the background and reasoning of others.
Jesus' heart went out to the people to such an extent that he sacrificed needed rest to teach them. On one occasion Jesus Christ and his disciples took a boat and headed for an isolated spot to rest up a bit. But people saw them going and many got to know it, and from all the cities they ran there together on foot and got ahead of them. Well, on getting out, he saw a great crowd, but he was moved with pity for them, because they were as sheep without a shepherd. And he started teaching them many things.
After Jesus life ended on earth by being crucified on the cross in a cruel way, God exalted him to a superior position and kindly gave him the name that is above every other name, so that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend, of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the ground, and every tongue should openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
Acknowledgment of Jesus Christ as Lord means more than simply calling him Lord. It requires that an individual recognize Jesus' position and follow a course of obedience. As Jesus himself said: "Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,' will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will."
Since Jesus has the keys of death and Hades, he is in position to release mankind from the common grave and from the death inherited from Adam. He is therefore also the Lord over the dead.
During the three and a half years of his earthly ministry, Jesus trained his apostles to continue the work he had started. As imperfect humans, they could not possibly remember every detail about Jesus and his teachings, for the teachings of Jesus were accurate to all God's ways.
But Jesus promised to send them the helper, the Holy Spirit which the Father would send in his name and the holy spirit will teach them all things and bring back to their minds all the things he told them.
Now that we as Christians have the Holy Spirit as a helper let us take a good look at Jesus life from the beginning with this point of view. Jesus was planted here on earth as the seed of life that grew clear up into the heavens and he set the example for us to follow.
We have the opportunity to follow the example that Jesus set before us and grew up into the heavens with him or choose to do things our way and wither away like a tree that has limited time and eventually dies off. For Jesus Christ is the only way to everlasting life, and the life of Jesus was sacrificed that we may live.

Church: Where Do We Go From Here!
Like everything else in this world, churches also go through change. When I joined a church in 1979 it was in the process of change. At the time it belonged to the Baptist Union and shortly after me joining the church resigned from the Baptist Union and changed from an Eldership led Church to a Pastor led Church.
Due to the fact that this was one of the significant events that happened to me as a young Christian and because there was so much for the ex-Baptist and myself to learn as a young Charismatic, I came to believe that "moving on" was what Christians do; God revealed new truth to us and then we left the old truth behind and moved on.
I clearly remember one significant meeting, when a group of leaders of that church declared: "When the cloud of truth moves on (referring to Moses being led by the cloud in the wilderness) they too would move on." I was right there saying yes I would be one of those. Since then I have moved on a number of times as promised, sadly the vast majority that were in that room that night, have not.
That's par for the course though, the church does move on and always when it does the movers criticise the stayers and the stayers are convinced and publish document after document that the movers are now in heresy.
It's been happening for almost 1000 years now:
1054 "The Great Schism" - Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches divide.
1519 Martin Luther starts "The Reformation" and the Lutheran Church
1534 King Henry VIII proclaims himself head of the Church of England
1559 John Knox starts the Presbyterian Church in Scotland
1581 Robert Browne and Robert Harrison start Congregational Churches in England
1608 John Smyth starts Baptist Churches
1650 George Fox is arrested; his movement is first called 'Quakers'
1784 John Wesley's 'Methodist Society' separates from the Church of England
1820 (approx.) Brethren churches and Exclusive Brethren churches started, mainly by Christians from the Church of England
1900 Pentecostal churches started in America
1960 (approx.) Independent Charismatic churches start in the U.K
More recently there has been the Emerging Church Movement and the House Church Movement.
The people in the emergent church like to call it a conversation. What those involved in the conversation mostly agree on is their disillusionment with the organized and institutional church and their support for the deconstruction of modern Christian worship, modern evangelism, and the nature of modern Christian community. The same pattern persists though, those that move on can't believe that people can't see the new truth and those that stay write the new movement off as reckless and heretical. Now with the introduction of internet there are just so many mean ways to discredit each other.
Recently, there has been an even wider spread rejection of religion and structure in the church. Many of these people just stopped going to church altogether, not rejecting God or Jesus, but just opposed to structure and the traditional interpretation of many of the scriptures in the Bible. I have seen a greater tolerance of other religions including Eastern philosophies and even new age developing. I know many people that while following the directive to pursue the Kingdom of God to some extent feel that they have out-grown church. To me it is a natural progression. Where does one go when you have rid yourself of the shackles of religion and form, but you are still pursuing spiritual truth?
Perhaps it's time to look up into the heaven as the wise men following a star did 2000 years ago. Astrologers tell us that in Moses' time it was the Age of Taurus, the bull, hence the Israelites worshipping a golden calf the first time Moses came down from the mountain. During Jesus' time until now it has been the age of Pisces, the fish, hence all the fish references in the New Testament and even fish symbols on people cars.
Apparently the planet is now moving into Aquarius. So this really is 'the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius' as the song from the controversial musical of the 60's, 'Hair,' so rightly said. This is the 'Water Carrier' and some people believe that this is what Jesus' was referring to in Luke 22:10 "Jesus replied, 'As you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him to the house that he enters" They say that he is referring to a new dispensation, a new age. To me this is a stretch, but not impossible that it is a reference to the New Age of Aquarius.
I did some research on the meaning of the Age of Aquarius and "stumbled" up this passage:
"The sign of Aquarius shows a man with two pitchers of water who is wisely combing these waters. The doctrine of the Age of Aquarius is thus termed the "Doctrine of the Synthesis", the synthesis of all authentic religions and systems of self-realization. In the Aquarian Age dogmatic types of Christianity will cease to be taught, and all dogmatic forms will disappear. In this age science will become religious, and religion will become scientific. Disagreements between science and religion will come to an end, and people will begin to comprehend that both spirit and matter are derived from the same source, and are only modifications of the One Universal Energy."
I find that very interesting!
Some of my friends and I have been researching Quantum Physics and String theory recently and have been trying to figure out what is the true nature of reality. My son brought a DVD home the other day of Rob Bell, a well know, fairly 'out of the box' Christian speaker, called Everything is Spiritual. In it he talks about Creation, the behaviour patterns of atoms and energy. As well as the fact that Scientists can now confirm 11 and more different dimensions as well as other very interesting discoveries and hypotheses. My friends and I have also been looking into other beliefs and religions to see if there is anything that can be learned from them, as well as making a point of not being judgemental of what others believe.
Perhaps the Age of Aquarius is already starting to take effect. I think there is a possible connection between Aquarius, the end of the Mayan Calendar in 2012 and the 1000 years of Peace spoken about in Revelations. What with the New World Order looming in the natural world and the Age of Aquarius in the Heavens we are surely in for some extremely interesting times.
Keep your eyes and mind open!

A Guide for Creating Sustainable Change in Secondary Schools
Supporting the growth process of teachers requires professional development that reaches beyond one-shot seminars or half-day trainings. In Literacy Learning Communities: A Guide for Creating Sustainable Change in Secondary Schools, ReLeah Lent offers a professional development guide to literacy learning communities (LLCs), groups of teachers guided by shared goals, inquiry, and literacy learning. Lent notes that "federal and state bureaucrats have been so insistent that everyone get on board the literacy train quickly that whole districts often leave the station without knowing where they are headed" (p. x). In the three sections of this book, Lent provides direction and resources for creating sustainable change through LLCs.
The first section of the book explores creating an environment for literacy learning. Relationships, central to this process, are encouraged through collaboration that is focused on a shared vision, peer feedback Vibram 5 Fingers opportunities, and collective learning. In this context, learning is at once personal and social, connecting both to knowledge and to other learners (Senge et al., 2000). Lent notes, "We must remind each other that the essence of community lies within our collective humanity, and the very qualities that give it life are those that are difficult to quantify, standardize, categorize, or assess" (p. 13).
To sustain a literacy learning environment, trust must be cultivated by establishing expectations and providing members with the time and space they need to grow as a community. Lent's suggestions for developing trust include making time to meet for professional study, restructuring faculty meetings to include work sessions, and seeing tension as part of the change process. Ultimately, a culture of trust is vital, as "it immerses all its members, including students, in an environment where relationships have the potential of turning knowledge into wisdom" (p. 26). This potential makes the work of LLCs compelling. Literacy knowledge, the final element of a literacy learning environment, is more than one-dimensional school activities and narrowly focused reading strategy lessons. Lent argues that teachers must engage in their own learning process to meet the changing needs of students and to address the characteristics of 21st-century literacy learning (Warlick, 2004). By focusing on relationships, trust, and literacy knowledge, teachers and administrators can create an environment for literacy learning that sets the stage for LLCs engaged in sustainable change.
In the book's second section, Lent presents a three-year action plan for building a community for literacy learning. The first year is for creating an initial community, assessing students' learning needs, and developing a plan to meet those needs. Efficacy "results when a group assumes control over its own decision making and believes that it can improve teaching practices and student learning". Engagement develops energy, social contact, and flow. These two elements help teachers develop a working definition of LLCs that emphasizes literacy learning, shared goals, and inquiry. To help with the first-year action plan, Lent shares examples of how an LLC should appear in terms of participation, members, tasks, and Five Fingers KSO literacy learning. She also provides resources, such as an invitation to join, a list of potential members, and a set of guiding principles. The plan for the second year expands LLCs to include study groups, peer coaching, and action research. A reflective cycle of inquiry is called for as teachers work to assess the literacy learning needs of the school and to focus on necessary changes for providing effective instruction. Lent suggests collecting data from a range of sources, including surveys, attendance records, and test scores. This reflective cycle informs the action plan and strengthens the work of the LLC.
The third year focuses on sustaining the LLC process. Lent provides an action plan template for framing the ongoing inquiry work of the LLC and asks a series of questions to generate discussion: "What factors or data led the group to determine the focus How, specifically, will the group's study improve student learning How will the group know that their action has been effective in improving student learning" (p. 80). She also shares examples of developed action plans that are focused on literacy learning and designed to meet the needs of the teachers and students involved. The third section of the book examines three tools designed to help teachers in LLCs. The first is study groups, defined as "small groups of people who come together for a common purpose, learning that will directly benefit their students" (p. 98). Roles for study group members are explained and example study group topics are provided, including content area knowledge, reading and book clubs, and current events. Study groups are appealing in their immediacy of application and variety of topics.
